About the Founder

Meet Adébáyọ̀ Shẹ̀fíù Ọlábọ̀dé, a passionate Yorùbá language promoter and enthusiast. With a lifelong dedication to studying and preserving the Yorùbá language, Adébáyọ̀ has become a leading voice in promoting Yorùbá language and culture.

Educational Background
Adébáyọ̀’s academic excellence is a testament to his passion for the Yorùbá language. He graduated with DISTINCTION from Ansar-Ud-Deen College of Education’s Yorùbá department and later earned a FIRST-CLASS HONOURS degree in Linguistics/Yorùbá from the University of Lagos.
Professional Experience
As a journalist at Punch Nigeria Limited, Adébáyọ̀ oversees all Yorùbá-related affairs, including correspondence, live reporting, broadcasting, research, investigation, and subtitling video stories from Yorùbá to English.

Achievements
Adébáyọ̀’s impressive track record includes:

Winning GOLD MEDALS in English Scrabble competitions during his undergraduate days
Emerging as the top performer in Scrabble and chess for his department throughout his time in school
Showcasing his poetic prowess as a top-performing poet at various occasions, including Lagos State First Family events

Hailing from Ibadan, Oyo State, Adébáyọ̀ grew up in Mushin and spent most of his years in Lagos State. He is an avid enthusiast of Yorùbá poetry (ewì) and is committed to promoting the Yorùbá language and culture through his work.
